NKWK - Collaborating on Water and Climate
A climate-resilient and water-robust Dutch Delta. That is the objective of the National Water and Climate Knowledge and Innovation Programme.
The NKWK is a national programme within which government authorities, knowledge institutes and companies, work in conjunction on pilot projects, topical issues and long-term developments. They invest in knowledge and innovation with courage, vision and entrepreneurial spirit. The NKWK brings the parties together, which leads to surprising and promising connections.
Part of the Delta Alliance
The NKWK serves as the Dutch Wing of the Delta Alliance. An international knowledge-driven network organisation with the mission of improving the resilience of the world’s deltas. With increasing pressure from population growth, industrialisation and a changing climate, it is more important than ever that these valuable and vulnerable locations increase their resilience to changing conditions.
The Delta Alliance, with 18 network members from 15 countries, brings people together who live and work in deltas. The Delta Alliance provides a platform where they can share their knowledge and benefit from each other’s experience and expertise and as such contribute to an increased resilience of their delta region. See the Delta Alliance website for more information.
The Netherlands is involved in a large number of projects and activities in the area of climate adaptation.
